Bad Breath, Halitosis

What is Bad Breath?

Bad breath is the result of smells and waste from bacteria that live in the mouth and throat. For the majority of people (around 85% to 90% of those who have bad breath halitosis), the single most frequent cause of breath odour problems is bacteria that live in their mouth.

Halitosis or bad breath is defined as noticeable unpleasant odour that emanates from the mouth which is objectionable and undesirable to others. It is one of society's oldest and most troublesome social maladies. It is caused by volatile sulphur compounds.
